NEWPORT—The 2019 Tennessee Picnic is fast approaching and organizers are busy putting the finishing touches on plans for this year’s occasion.

Several pageants will be among the special events during the celebration.

The Prince/Princess Pageant is open to children ages newborn to 10 years. There is no registration fee. The deadline to sign up for this pageant is Saturday, June 22.

The Miss TN Picnic beauty pageant is open to young ladies ages 16-21. Registration fee for this competition is $25, and deadline to sign up is Saturday, July 13.

The top three winners in this pageant will receive scholarships. Contestants will be judged on beauty and answering a question only. Contestants may, if they choose, also enter additional categories of Prettiest Smile, Hair, Eyes, and Most Photogenic. There is an additional cost of $5 for each category.

Contestants for 2019 Miss TN Picnic should bring a recent 5 x 7 or larger photo for inclusion in the program.

One of the most popular pageants is the Senior Miss TN Pageant. This is open to women ages 55 and up. There is no registration fee. Deadline to sign up for this pageant is also Saturday, July 13.

Signup dates are Saturday, June 22, and Saturday, July 13, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the TN Picnic Association headquarters, 240 Jaybird Road, Newport.
