MORRISTOWN—Governor Bill Lee has chosen a Walters State Community College sophomore to represent students on the Tennessee Board of Regents.
Emily Dollar, a physical therapist assistant major from White Pine, will represent the 120,000 students attending the 40 colleges governed by the TBR.
“We are proud that Emily was chosen for this role, which is both an honor and a responsibility. Emily is a campus leader and will do an outstanding job as a voice for students enrolled in the TBR system,” said Dr. Tony Miksa, president of Walters State.
Dollar serves as a Senators Page, giving tours to prospective and incoming students. She is frequently a hostess for college events. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the Baptist Collegiate Ministry and the International Club. She enjoys art, hiking and spending time with her family.
Dollar also works as a crew trainer at McDonalds. She attends First Baptist Church in Morristown.
Dollar will serve on the TBR through June 30, 2020. TBR is largest educational system in Tennessee.
