NEWPORT—A Cosby man is facing an several charges after he was found in possession of drugs on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Deputy Zach Shelton was dispatched to the area of Wiley Town Road in reference to a male subject, later identified as Sean Lee Sheffield, 47, Denton Road, who was passed out in a truck in the middle of the roadway.
Upon arrival, Deputy Shelton came in contact with Sheffield who said he was driving to a residence on Old Edwina Road when he reportedly fell asleep.
At that time, deputies asked Sheffield to step out of the vehicle for further investigation.
A pat down search revealed a container in Sheffield’s pocket that contained two baggies of methamphetamine, two pills identified as Oxycontin and three pills of Morphine.
He was then placed under arrest without further incident.
According to the report, deputies learned the vehicle Sheffield was driving had been reported stolen from Sevier County.
A subsequent search of the truck revealed scales, a glass pipe and two other types of narcotics.
Sheffield was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II, theft of property over $1,000, possession of legend drug and driving while license revoked.
