COSBY—Carver’s Orchard and Applehouse sustained heavy damage after a Mosheim man struck the building with his vehicle earlier this week.
Administrative Captain C.J. Ball was dispatched to 3462 Cosby Highway, concerning a single vehicle crash just before 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Upon arrival, Capt. Ball learned that Thomas K. Moyers, 81, Mosheim was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram truck in Carver’s Applehouse parking lot when he accidentally accelerated instead of hitting the brake. Moyers reportedly struck a vehicle, operated William Burns, 51, Deepwater, MO.
According to the report, after Moyers struck Burns’ vehicle, he then kept accelerating and drove into the produce barn of Carver’s building on the north side. The vehicle entered the building completely.
No injuries were reported, but Moyers complained of chest pains.
The damages to the building are estimated to be in excess of $20,000.
