COCKE COUNTY—Deputies were dispatched to the Dollar General, located on Highway 411, concerning a female subject passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle on Thursday, Sept. 5.
Upon arrival, Deputy Tony Bailey found the female in question, identified as Brittany Lynn Reese, 27, Needmore Road, in the driver’s seat with the keys in the ignition.
Upon speaking with Reese, she admitted to driving to Dollar General and then called her mother to come and pick her up. Deputies administered a field sobriety test to Reese and she performed poorly on all tests given.
Reese was then placed under arrest without further incident. A subsequent search of Reese’s wallet revealed a narcotic identified as Alprazolam.
Sgt. Max Laughter also reported he found a half pill of Oxymorphone Hydrochloride in the back seat of her vehicle along with a straw.
Reese was charged with driving while under the influence of drugs, possession of schedule II, possession of schedule IV, driving while license revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia.
