Leona Carrie France Woody, age 91, of Kodak, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Woody; daughter, Fannie France Highsmith; sisters, Edna Potts, Elizabeth Clevenger, Darcus Woody, Dorothy Martin and Winnie Jones.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Debbie Woody; grandchildren, Caitlin Woody, Kodak, Jerry Highsmith, Knoxville, Victoria Gluffre, North Carolina, and Jay Evans, Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Perry France and Kenneth France both of Newport; also nieces, nephews; and other family and friends.

Funeral services were 8 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Lynn Henry officiating.

Burial was 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Swansylvania Cemetery.
