Thelma Evans Massey, age 83, of Dandridge, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Baptist Convalescent Center.

She was a member of Newport Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jobey Massey, two sisters Irene Burgess and Viola Murrell, and one brother Delmar Evans.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Ron and Sheila Massey of Blythewood, SC; daughter and son-in-law Ilene and Larry Rinehart of Dandridge; grandchildren Brian Rinehart of Morristown; Scott Rinehart of Dandridge; Lauren Massey Larkey and husband William of Newnan, GA; great-grandchildren Sydney and Ayden Rinehart of Dandridge; and Benjamin Larkey of Newnan, GA; also several nieces, nephews, and other family.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2009, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tommy Golmon officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2009 in Union Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
