Albert Ball, age 84, of Newport, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009, at Baptist Hospital West.

He was preceded in death by his parents Riley and Rosalee Ball; brothers Charlie and Robert Ball; and sister Bonnie L. Lyons.

He is survived by his wife Pauline Ball; step-children Dolly M. Grooms and Stevie H. Ball; brothers Alonzo (Mildred) Ball and Arthur (Irene) Ball, all of Newport; sisters Vernie Greene and Bertha (Claude) Dalton of Detroit, MI; step-grandchildren Timothy, Kendall, and Olivia Grooms; Stacy and Arron Ball; special nieces Janey Foster, Renee Truhite, Virginia Unda, Jessica Escobar, and Cindy Ball; also other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2009, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Alfred Ball and Rev. Doug Messer officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.
