Last Thursday, May 16, I received a call from Bill and Barbra Snyder inviting me for lunch, Friday, May 17.

I met Bill, Barbra and Cheryl Fuller from Pensacola, Fla. and had lunch. During that time, all of my Bingo Buddies came to eat also. I commented to Barbra that they must have played bingo some place and came into Janice’s Diner in Cosby for lunch also.

She just said “Yea”.

When I finished lunch, this lovely woman came over and asked “Are you Billy Collier?” I answered yes and she reached over and gave me a hug. Then two more did the same.

I stood up and they proceeded to present me, as a Veteran of WWII and Korea, with a Quilt of Valor, handmade by the Parrottsville Quilts of Valor group.

As part of their ceremony, they then draped the quilt in triangle form over my shoulders.

All these friends and family had kept this from me for almost three weeks. Yes, I was truly surprised and grateful for this recognition and honor. I shall always love you for being there for me.

God bless you now and forever more.

Billy Collier
