Dear Editor:

The third annual Del Rio School Beans and Bluegrass Fall Carnival and Car Show was an amazing success! The weather was beautiful, the fans turned out in great numbers, the carnival was a nonstop party and the car show was a very great addition to the festivities.

The Grassy Fork and Del Rio Elementary School students kicked things off with great performances. Performing afterwards were the John Curtiss Mooneyham Band, Highway 4:16, the Smith Family, Diamond Creek and Brookfield Drive. Our bands all did an amazing job this year.

We appreciate all who supported us in this endeavor. The money raised will help our school to purchase a new digital sign. A list of our sponsors include Faye Fish and Modern Woodmen, Strange’s Honey Farm, Strange’s Eastport Exxon, French Broad Timber, Brushy Mountain Bear Club, Freeman Surveying, Bible Machine Shop, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts and NAPA auto parts. Thanks so much to each of you for your support!

A special thanks to all who worked from the community and school to make this a great success. You know who you are. Also, thanks to the Good Lord for blessing us with such a beautiful day, generous people and a great community to come out and support this worthy cause.

Please stay tuned for next year’s Beans and Bluegrass. If you didn’t get to come this year, we look forward to you making the trip next year up to Del Rio to a fun music venue. It’s one you don’t want to miss!
