Douglas-Cherokee Economic Authority (DCEA), and its Cocke County Neighborhood Service Center (Cocke NSC), would like to thank all of the great volunteers that continually assist each quarter with the distribution of USDA Commodity foods.

Most volunteers have been with us for many years and some have just begun. Regardless of how long each volunteer has assisted we appreciate all of their hard work in helping the DCEA Cocke NSC to help those in most need of food in Cocke County.

We would also like to thank the Cocke County Sheriff’s Department for their participation and commitment in assisting with the provision of this service for the community.

A final big thank you goes to Mr. Everett Ramsey for the donated use of his forklift to unload the pallets of delivered food during the last 6 years. We could not provide this service without everyone’s support and compassion to help those in most need.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a way to volunteer in the community then please think about volunteering with the DCEA Cocke NSC during their quarterly USDA Commodity Foods Distributions.

The 2020 Commodity Food distribution dates are May 19, August 18 and November 17.

Volunteers are also needed for the day before each of these specific dates as well.

If you are interested in volunteering and would like specifics on what volunteers are able to assist with then please contact the DCEA Cocke NSC at 423-623-3066.
