Dorothy Rose Scott Phillips

Dorothy Rose Scott Phillips, age 84, of Newport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Baptist West Hospital in Knoxville.

She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Bob Phillips; son, J. C. Phillips; granddaughters, Brittany Hope Ramsey, Makayla Renner, April Dawn Gunter, Stephanie Suzette Renner Sturm; daughter-in-law, Sandra Phillips; parents, Tunnie and Zelia Scott; and sister, Addie Benson.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Gunter, Bobby Phillips, Jessie Phillips and wife Sharon, Roger Phillips and wife Wanda, Ronnie Phillips and wife Kathy, Danny Phillips and wife Sandy, Ann Holt and husband Dan, Evelyn Renner and husband Steve, Debbie Holt and husband Ron, Susan Ramsey and husband Bobby, Chris Tucker and husband Mike; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Joe Bible, the Rev. J. D. Sisk, and the Rev. Rex Norton officiating.

Burial will follow in Swannsylvania Cemetery.
