Mr. Dennis Davidson Lindsay

Mr. Dennis Davidson Lindsay Sr., age 77 of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008. He was born December 28, 1930 in Birmingham, Ala. Son of the late F.B. Lindsay Sr. and Dorothy Davidson. Dennis was a graduate of the University of Alabama, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Lindsay retired after 38 years of service with Norfolk Southern Corporation. In retirement, he worked for Commercial Bank and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. He was actively involved in Boy Scouts of America in Douglas County, receiving many awards. He was a member, greeter, and deacon at Arbor Heights Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marjorie Lindsay and father-in-law, Ed Rolen of Newport, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis Lindsay, Jr. of Douglasville, Bill and Krissy Lindsay of Villa Rica; sister, Dorothy Massey of Selma, Ala.; brother, Furman Brooks of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren, Bradley, Lauren and Nathan Lindsay and Madison, Morgan and Dax Langley; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home on Friday, May 2 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 3 at 5 p.m. at Arbor Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Gray officiating.

Interment will be Sunday, May 4 at 3 p.m. in Union Cemetery in Newport, TN.
