Eulla Mae "Cookie" Ellison, age 72, of Newport, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Everette Ellison; parents, Wally and Helen Cook; and brother, Ad Cook.

She is survived by her sons, Everette Ellison, Jr. and wife Lisa, Gary Ellison and wife Rhonda Fine Ellison, David Ellison, and Carl Ellison and wife Patricia, all of Newport; sister, Shirley Whitted, Seymour; grandchildren, Timothy, Tiara, Misty, Joshua and Brooke Ellison; great grandchildren, Jakoda Ray and Alethius Ellison; special friends and care givers, Jessica Connard, Wendy Blazer and Debbie Parrott; also other family and friends.

Funeral services were held 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2009, in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel, with the Rev. Ransom Hall officiating.

Burial was held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Ellison Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
