Dorothy Ghent Brazell, age 77, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, July 01, 2009, at Newport Health and Rehab. She was a member of Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Brazell.

Survivors include her brother, Billy Gene Ghent, Cecil R. Ghent (Frances) Donald T. Ghent (Diane) Jimmy M. Ghent (Darryl); sisters, Ruth G. Norris, Linda G. Sims (Roger), Mary E. Faulkenberry; and special friend, Dorothy Howard.

Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church Cemetery in Newport with the Rev. Mike Baker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church or Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
