Newell Elizabeth Stewart, age 66, of Newport, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at her home. 

Ms. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Jessie Stewart, son Andre Stewart, daughter Marie Stewart, four brothers and six sisters.

Ms. Stewart is survived by her two loving sons Jerry (Llona) Haskins of Capital Heights, MD and Lamont (Kanikka) Haskins of Waldorf, MD; grandchildren Angelina and Andrea Richardson of Washington, DC; Daymon, Jerald, and Elexus Haskins of Capital Heights, MD; and Aje' Hasking of Waldorf, MD; stepdaughter Sophia Cooper of Capital Heights, MD; sisters Delia Stewart and Mamie Elliott, both of Newport, and Anna (Henry) Cofield of Washington, DC; one loving brother Charles Stewart of Newport; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rosie Cuberson officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Springs Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
