Samuel Elmo Kelley, of Newport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at his home.

He was a faithful member of First Freewill Baptist Church.

He was retired from Rhyne Lumber Company (Newport Builders). He was a carpenter and an electrician by trade.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andy and Myrtle Woody Kelley; brothers Tom Kelley and Junior Kelley; sisters Lena Cogdill, Leona Cogdill, and Delma Rodgers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Janie Louise Dalton Kelley; brothers Walker Kelley (Frances) of Del Rio; Don Kelley (Ruth) of Del Rio; Fred Kelley (Cora Mae) of Del Rio; sister Tula Moore of White Pine.

He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7, 2009, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Resthaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Eddie Young officiating. Entombment followed the services.

The family received friends from 11:00-12:00 prior to the services.
