NEWPORT--Paul Edward Lee, who served as CockeCounty Register of Deeds for 24 years, died Wednesday. He had reportedlysuffered a fall last week.

 

Lee, 74, was a member of Newport Masonic Lodge #234 F& AM, where he had served as treasurer. In addition, he was a 32nd DegreeScottish Rite Mason and a member of Kerbela Shrine.

 

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during theKorean War. He was also a member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

 

He was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include his wife, Doris Eslinger Lee; sonand daughter-in-law, Paul K. and Rebecca Lee; and grandsons, Kris, Nick, andNoah Lee.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.,Friday, May 9, in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel.

 

After visitation, there will be a Masonic service andthe Rev. Dr. Craig Ward will officiate the funeral service.

 

Burial will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10, in UnionCemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations tothe Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
