CCHS student charged with disorderly conduct
A 17-year-old student at Cocke County High School allegedly got into a verbal argument with a Level 2 ISS teacher on Friday, Oct. 2, about an MP3 player. The student allegedly swore and told the teacher to get "out of his face," Deputy Sheriff Randy Cutshaw reported. The student was taken to the school's main office where he allegedly jumped out of his seat and told the deputy sheriff to arrest him. He was then taken into custody and transported to Juvenile Court, where he was released to his brother.

Resisting arrest and criminal impersonation
Frank Feliciano, Jr., was arrested Friday, Oct. 2, and charged with resisting arrest and criminal impersonation after he allegedly told officers his name was "Frank Santigo" and tried to walk away when officers tried to search him, Deputy Sheriff Robert Thornton reported.

Possession of Schedule 4 Diazepam
Charles E. Mason, 32, of 2814 Hollow Road, was arrested Monday, Sept. 28, and charged with possession of Schedule 4 Diazepam after allegedly failing a drug test for several substances and waiting to be escorted by an officer to jail, Sgt. Armando Fontes reported.

Two vehicles in wreck
Billy W. Fox, 40, of 2593 Dicky Road, in Dandridge, was allegedly driving a 2002 Jeep on Wednesday, Sept. 30, on Highway 411 at Highway 25/70, and stopped at the two roads' intersection when a 1994 Toyota URL driven by Carol T. Hurley, 55, of 1449 Golf Course Road, in Newport, struck the rear of Fox's car. No one was injured, Deputy Sheriff Tony Bailey reported.

Vehicle hits deer
Jacqueline R. Poteete, 17, of 288 Wolf Creek Road, in Del Rio, said she was driving a 2006 Hyundai on East Highway 25/70 on Thursday, Oct. 1, at about 8:15 a.m., when a deer allegedly crossed her path and her vehicle struck it, Sgt. Tony Whitten reported.

Vehicle backs up into other vehicle
Paul Godwin, 40, of 1426 Parton Way, in Talbott, was allegedly driving a Mitsubishi Montero on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in the parking lot of Gary's Garage and backed up into a 1994 Toyota TTX that was parked with no one in it, Deputy Sheriff Brian Holt reported.

Vehicle leaves Highway 321 and rolls twice
Melissa L. Devine, 32, of 627 Ellison Drive, in Newport, was driving a 1999 Dodge Stratus on Sunday, Sept. 27, north on South Highway 321 near Caney Creek Road, when in a curve she apparently overcorrected, ran off the left side of the road into a wooded area and rolled the Dodge twice before coming to a stop with the vehicle upside down, Deputy Sheriff Randall Hartsell reported. Devine was injured and had no insurance, Hartsell wrote.

Hit and run turned violent
Anthony G. Norton, 323, of Stokely Cemetery Road, in Del Rio, said that on Wednesday, Sept. 30, he was driving a 2006 Chevrolet on Stokley Cemetery Road at South 107 when a GMC pickup allegedly sideswiped his vehicle, hitting the driver's side mirror. Norton was stopped at the time of the impact. The other driver did not stop so Norton followed it to get the tag number, which he did. It came back to a 1994 Toyota pickup registered to Ricky Mathas, with an address of 125 Wild Cat Way, in Del Rio. The driver-apparently not Mathas-stopped his vehicle on South Highway 107, Norton stopped his vehicle, and Norton asked the man why he had not stopped after hitting Norton's vehicle. At that time, a person who was identified allegedly got out of the truck, swore at Norton, and struck him in the chin with his fist. Norton drove off and notified police, Deputy Sheriff Joseph Owings reported.

Driver flees scene of accident
The driver of a 1989 Toyota pickup truck owned by Thomas C. Livesay, of Parrottsville, allegedly fled the scene of an accident on Thursday, Oct. 1, at about 11:30 p.m., on Highway 321 North at Cloud Way, Deputy Sheriff Joseph Owings. Samuel M. Doolittle, 18, of 1709 Memory Lane, in Bybee, said he was stopped at a stop sign on North Highway 321 in a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe when the Toyota allegedly came to the stop sign, could not make the turn, and slid into the Tahoe on the driver's side. The driver allegedly could not restart his Toyota and told Doolittle to not call the law before grabbing some bags out of the truck and running off.

Vehicle allegedly hits black bear
Michelle Jones, of Ponderosa Road, in Parrottsville, said that on Friday, Oct. 2, at about 8:30 p.m., she was traveling south on Highway 340 in Parrottsville when a black bear crossed the path of her vehicle. She said she tried to not hit, but did so, and then the bear ran away. Jones said the impact damaged her passenger-side front fender, front bumper, light assembly, and inner fender, Deputy Sheriff David Crowder reported.

Aggravated burglary/theft over $1,000 reported
Charlene Frazier, 62, of Greenwood Way, in Newport, said she had several pieces of jewelry, a safe, and medication stolen from her home on Tuesday, Sept. 29, valued at over $3,300, Deputy Sheriff David Crowder reported.

Aggravated burglary
Chad Styles, 28, of Bedrock Way, said that on Tuesday, Sept. 19, someone broke into his home and stole several items, including jewelry, valued at over $12,630, Deputy Sheriff Steve Johnson reported.

Keith Jones, 38, of Circle Road, in Cosby, said that on Saturday, Oct. 3, someone broke into his home and stole several tools, change, and a scanner, at a total estimated value of $8,325, Deputy Sheriff Steve Johnson reported.

Burglary reported
Wanda Stuart, 40, of Rays Loop, in Newport, said that on Friday, Oct. 2, someone stole a PlayStation 3 she had rented from Aaron's Rental on the Cosby Highway, Deputy Sheriff C.J. Ball reported. It is valued at about $500.

Violation of a court order
A resident of Tree Shadow Way, in Newport, said his ex-wife failed to bring their 12-year-old child to the Cocke County Courthouse on Friday, Oct. 2, at the prescribed time, Sgt. Ricky Holt reported.

Phone harassment alleged
Angela Rollins, 27, of Echo Valley Way, in Newport, said an acquaintance has been sending her numerous text messages that threatened and cussed her out, Deputy Sheriff C. J. Ball reported on Friday, Oct. 2.  In a separate report, Jessica J. Hance, 18, also of Echo Valley Way, said the person has also sent her "very abusive text messages" and refused to stop, also on Oct. 2.

Burglary reported
Ben Shelton, 27, of Willow Glen Way, in Bybee, said that on Friday, Oct. 2, someone broke into his home and stole three shotguns, Deputy Sheriff C.J. Ball reported. Damage to a door and the shotguns are valued at around $575.

Vehicle reported stolen
Thomas C. Livesay, 22, of 3329 Salem Road, in Parrottsville, said that on either Thursday, Oct. 1, or Friday, Oct. 2, someone stole his 1989 Toyota pickup truck he had parked at a friend's house on Salem Road, in Parrottsville. The truck is valued at $2,500. Several tools, coveralls, and a tail light for a motorcycle, all valued at over $500, were inside the truck, Livesay said, according to a report by Lt. Rick Laws.

Hit and run outside Brocks Market
Derrick Lynn Price, 27, of 146 Riverview St., in Newport, said that he parked his 1996 Honda Accord outside Brocks Market, at 601 East Broadway, in Newport, at about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, Capt. Scott Lamb reported. Price said that while he was in the store to purchase some merchandise, he heard a big crash, went outside, and saw that someone had damaged the front of his vehicle.

Threats made at Huddle House
Casey Weisbrodt, 24, of Quiet Way, in Newport, said that on Friday, Oct. 2, at about 10:30 p.m., a woman she knows came into the Huddle House at 1130 West Highway 25/70, where Weisbrodt works, and threatened her, Capt. Scott Lamb reported. Weisbrodt and the person had allegedly been involved in a fight at Lanes Market earlier in the week over some money that was allegedly owed.

Wallet allegedly stolen from resident at Wellington Place
Herbert Stone, a rented at Wellington Place, at 375 Hedrick Drive, told Capt. Brad Ball on Friday, Oct. 2, at about 1 p.m. that his wallet was missing and suspected to have been stolen. Stone said he last saw his wallet around Wednesday, Sept 23. Items in the wallet stolen included about $317 in bills, credit cards, and a handgun carry permit from Florida.

Rear-end collision on East Broadway at Baer Street
Alice F. Hill, 66, of 522 3rd St., in Newport, said she had stopped at a red light on East Broadway in a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck on Friday, Oct. 2, when a 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by Chris Gibson, 58, of 507 East Broadway, in Newport, alleged rear-ended Hill's vehicle, Patrolman Matt Franklin reported.

Breaking and entering/theft over $1,000
A woman at a First United Methodist Church at 212 Washington Ave., in Newport, said that on Thursday, Oct. 1, at about 8:30 p.m., she went to the church and found the door to the office had been taken off its hinges. She told Patrolman Donald Coakley that three rooms in the office had been ransacked and items scattered about the place. She said the only item missing was a Dell Inspirion 9300 Pentium M 750 from a drawer in one of the offices. Two damaged doors are valued at $1,500 and the computer was valued at $1,596, Coakley reported.

Accident at intersection of Woodlawn and Mineral
Harold D. Crutcher, 43, of 2301 Bain Bridge Way, in Newport, allegedly stopped a 2000 Honda Accord he was driving at a stop sign at the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Mineral Street, on Thursday, Oct. 1, at about 2 p.m., Patrolman Robby McMahan reported. Eula M. Pixler, 77, of Monte Vista Way, in Cosby, allegedly hit the Honda in the rear bumper with the vehicle she was driving, a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Officers did not notice any damage to the vehicles. Pixler was transported to Baptist Hospital of Cocke County as a precautionary measure.

Three charges and an arrest
Amanda D. McMahan, 30, of 608 Blue Ridge Way, in Newport, was arrested Friday, Oct. 2, after she allegedly did not stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Smith Street and Rankin Road in a 1998 Ford Expedition that she was driving, Patrolman Matt Franklin reported. She was arrested and charged with traffic control device (stop sign), driving on a suspended driver's license 1st offense, and violation of financial responsibility law. She allegedly said she had insurance, but not in the vehicle.

Arrested for burglary of vehicle
William L. Jones, 47, of 582 Travis Way, in Newport, was arrested Thursday, Oct. 1, and charged with a vehicle burglary on a warrant taken out on Tuesday, Sept. 29. He allegedly admitted to entering a vehicle at Walmart that he said he believed still belonged to his brother, Patrolman Donald Coakley reported.

Stolen property recovered
Randall Mathis, 35, allegedly admitted to police he stole jewelry and money on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from Bonnie Ellen Holt's home on Lennon Circle, in Newport, Patrolman Billy Woody reported. Woody said Mathis had a cut on his finger. Blood was found on several pill bottles at Holt's home.

Alleged attempt to obtain fraudulent prescriptions
A doctor at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County said a 35-year-old woman had apparently tried to obtain pain medications several times in about three days prior to Friday, Oct. 2, Patrolman William Garber reported. The doctor said the woman went to the hospital for medical treatment on Thursday, Oct. 1, and became very upset because she was not given a stronger pain medication, Garber reported.

Vehicle rolls backwards into a concrete barrier
Kyker J. Wayne, of 184 Riverview Circle, in Newport, said that on Thursday, Oct. 1, he stopped his 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck at Williams Lawn Care, at 353 West Broadway, in Newport, and thought he put his vehicle in park. Wayne told police that when he looked back, however, he saw his truck roll backwards and hit a concrete barrier in the driver's side door, fender and rear end, Patrolman Donald Coakley reported.
