Probation violation: Nathan T. Runyan, 20, Myers Circle, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Monday, Nov. 11. Patrolman Shane Bower arrested Runyan following a traffic stop without incident.

Probation violation: Maci R. Cruz, 57, Summer Springs Way, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Saturday, Nov. 9. Patrolman Brandon Cassady arrested Cruz at Dollar General Store without incident.

Runyan arrest: Whitney K. Runyan, 22, Moose Way, was arrested by the Newport Police Department for an array of charges including possession of schedule II following a traffic stop in Newport Sunday night. Patrolman Shane Bower conducted a routine traffic stop after he observed Ruyan speeding on West Broadway Street. Upon stopping the vehicle, Ptl. Bower came in contact with Runyan, who did not have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and no proof of insurance. She was detained without further incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a needle and baggie that contained 1.4 grams of methamphetamine that belonged to Runyan. According to the report, as officers attempted to place Runyan under arrest, she became “combative.” Runyan was placed under arrest and charged with possession of schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, speeding, driving while license revoked and violation of financial responsibility.

Warrants served: Joshua Stewart, 32, Lamaster Street, was served with active outstanding warrants for assault and violation of probation on Friday, Nov. 8. Patrolman Brandon Cassady arrested Stewart at his residence without incident.
