Probation violation: Steven D. Ball, 44, Cosby Highway, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Friday, Sept. 6. Patrolman Jordan Douglas arrested Ball without incident following a traffic stop.

Probation violation: Tabatha L. Dalton, 39, Mathis Branch Road, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Friday, Sept. 6. Patrolman Jordan Douglas arrested Dalton without incident and transported her to the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Overdose: Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of English Street, concerning an overdose on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Upon arrival, Patrolman Shane Bower spoke with the homeowner, who said Jake R. Markley, 25, Dandridge allegedly came inside her residence and went to her son’s bathroom. Ptl. Bower said he found Markley lying in the bathroom floor and was “seizing.” Officers administered four doses of Narcan to Markley before he regained consciousness. Markley admitted to taking heroin prior. He was transported to the Newport Medical Center for treatment.

Robison arrest: A Newport man has been charged with possession of heroin following a traffic stop on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Patrolman Brandon Cassady observed a white Scion that had a missing hood pull into the back parking lot of Hardee’s. According to the report, Ptl. Cassady also noted the vehicle was seen at a English Street residence after an overdose was reported. Upon coming in contact with the driver, identified as Stephen T. Robison, 33, Converse Street, Ptl. Cassady obtained verbal consent to search the vehicle where he found a baggie that contained 1.05 grams of heroin and needles. Robison was placed under arrest and charged with possession of schedule I and possession of drug paraphernalia.
