Wood arrest: Officers were dispatched to Burger King concerning a possible intoxicated female dancing in the parking lot on Wednesday, June 5. While en route, Patrolman Will Garber was advised that the female, identified as Lena M. Wood, 45, Pack Way, left the scene in a Honda. Ptl. Garber found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. At that time, he came in contact with Wood, who was in the passenger seat, and noticed she was trying to hide something in the glove box. According to the report, the owner of the vehicle gave officers consent to search the vehicle where they located the pill bottle and noticed it had several tablets of Morphine in it. Officers spoke with Wood and she admitted that she “shot up” earlier. She was placed under arrest and charged with possession of schedule II.

White arrest: Kristin N. White, 36, Bowman Drive, was served with an active outstanding warrant for contempt of court on Wednesday, June 5. Patrolman Paul Weber served White the warrant at the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Cohen arrest: Stephanie Cohen, 34, West Highway 25/70, was served with active outstanding warrants for failure to appear (two counts) and violation of probation on Thursday, June 6. Patrolman Paul Weber arrested Cohen during a traffic stop without incident.

Overdose: Officers were dispatched to 613 North Street, in reference to an overdose on Thursday, June 6. Upon arrival, Patrolman Joshyua Shults said he found the female victim, identified as Kelsie N. Miller, 34, lying in the floor unconscious. According to the report, Ptl. Shults administered a dose of Narcan to Miller and she regained consciousness. Miller admitted to officers that she took heroin prior. She was transported to Newport Medical Center for treatment.

Warrant served: Jessica N. McGaha, 33, no address, was served with an active outstanding warrant for contempt of court on Thursday, June 6. Patrolman Johnathan Ball served McGaha the warrant at the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Rogers arrest: Freddie V. Rogers, 53, Judds Lane, was served with an active outstanding warrant for contempt of court on Wednesday, June 5. Patrolman Paul Weber arrested Rogers at Dollar General without incident.

Assault: Officers were dispatched to Newport Medical Center concerning an assault that occurred on Thursday, June 6. Upon arrival, Patrolman Jessy Burgess spoke with Deborah McMahan, 60, who said while she and Shawn Gatens were arguing he allegedly threw her on the bed and struck her several times. McMahan stated she escaped the residence and had a friend take her to the ER. Officers observed wounds consistent to McMahan’s story.

Coleman arrest: Officers were dispatched to Food City East in reference to an active shoplifter on Tuesday, June 4. Upon arrival, Patrolman Brandon Cassady spoke with an employee who said she received a written statement from Darrel A. Coleman, 38, Chilton Road, admitting that he stole a pack of salami and flushed it down the toilet. According to the report, as officers came in contact with Coleman, they noticed he could not control his movement, which led them to believe he was under the influence. He was placed under arrest without further incident. Ptl. Cassady said he searched Coleman’s teddy bear that he was carrying, and noticed he hid two more packs of salami inside the bear. He was charged with public intoxication.
