McGuire arrest: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Netherton Drive, concerning an active alarm on Friday, July 5. Upon arrival, Patrolman Paul Weber came in contact with Deborah McGuire, 55, who said while she and Shannon D. McGuire, 51, were arguing he reportedly shoved her several times. Mrs. McGuire stated that she and Mr. McGuire were arguing so loud that it caused their residence alarm to activate. According to the report, Mrs. McGuire recorded the incident on her phone and showed police to confirm her story. Mr. McGuire was then placed under arrest and charged with domestic assault.

Shoplifting: Karen S. Ramsey, 41, Lighten Road, was arrested by the Newport Police Department for shoplifting on Saturday, July 6. Capt. Matthew Elliott was dispatched to Walmart concerning an active shoplifter. Upon arrival, Capt. Elliott spoke with the Loss Prevention Officer, who said he observed Ramsey conceal several items in her purse and attempt to leave the store without paying. Ramsey was detained and $73 worth of merchandise was recovered.

Gardner arrest: Tarel K. Gardner, 37, Gull Way, was served with active outstanding warrants for failure to appear and violation of probation on Friday, July 5. Sgt. Donald Coakley arrested Gardner at Walmart without incident.
