Rains arrest: Deputies were dispatched to the area of Country Square Road concerning a disabled vehicle on Friday, June 7. Upon arrival, Deputy Ethan Keys found the suspect Subaru with a flat tire and the driver, Robert John Raines, 29, Blueberry Lane, asleep behind the wheel. As Deputy Keys spoke with Raines, he stated he did not live far away. According to the report, Deputy Keys learned that Raines did not have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License due to Rains being a habitual motor vehicle offender. He was then placed under arrest without incident. Upon inventory of the vehicle, Deputy Keys found a small container that had 3.98 grams of marijuana inside. Raines was additionally charged with possession of schedule VI.

Aggravated assault: Mary Koch, 30, Heatherbrook Way, came to the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, June 9 to report an assault that occurred. Sgt. Max Laughter spoke with Koch, who said she and Rodney Allen Northern, 43, Heatherbrook Way, were arguing when Northern allegedly pushed her down and choked her. Northern was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
