Failure to appear: Allen Warren, 39, Clevenger Cutoff Road, was served with an active outstanding warrant for failure to appear on Wednesday, July 3. Sgt. Chris Barnes served Warren the warrant at the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Driving while license revoked: Montana S. Boyer, 34, Joe Reed Road, was taken into custody by the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, July 4. Deputy Dylan Norton and other deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 160 after they observed Boyer operating a vehicle with an expired registration tag. Deputies came in contact with Boyer and learned she did not have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License. She was placed under arrest and charged with driving on suspended license.

Probation violation: Alice R. Vick, 41, 1st Street, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Thursday, July 4. Sgt. Chris Barnes served Vick the warrant at the Cocke County Jail Annex.

DUI: Walter S. Freeman, 69, Spar Road, was arrested by the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office for driving under the influence on Thursday, July 4. Deputy Joshua Boyce reported he conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle driving “erratically” on Ravens Branch Road. At that time, Deputy Boyce came in contact with Freeman who had an odor of alcohol about his person and his speech was slurred. According to the report, deputies observed an empty bottle of Early Times liquor lying in the passenger seat. When questioned about the bottle of alcohol, Freeman admitted to drinking it with some of his friends. Deputies attempted to administer a field sobriety test to Freeman, but he refused to participate due to being impaired. Freeman was arrested without further incident.

Probation violation: Tyler W. Wikle, 22, Heiskell, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Thursday, July 4. Deputy Ethan Keys arrested Wikle at a residence on Fine Street without incident.

Domestic assault: Deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of Paintbrush Way, concerning a domestic altercation on Friday, July 5. Upon arrival, Deputy Joey Owings spoke with Jessica Sapp, 39, and Lawrence Green, 63, who said while they were arguing with Justin L. Green, 37, Green reportedly pushed Sapp down and struck Lawrence in the face. Green was later arrested. He was charged with domestic assault (two counts) and served with active outstanding warrants for failure to comply with child support (three counts).

Probation violation: Joyce Ball, 48, Paintbrush Way, was served with active outstanding warrants for violation of probation (two counts) on Friday, July 5. Lt. Michael Whitmer arrested Ball at her residence and transported her to the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Public intoxication: Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Sulphur Springs Road, concerning an intoxicated male subject on Friday, July 5. Upon arrival, Lt. Michael Whitmer came in contact with the male subject, identified as Clyde Burgess, 56, who was sitting outside the residence. According to the report, Burgess had a strong smell of alcohol about his person, slurred speech and was unable to stand without assistance. For his safety, he was taken into custody. Burgess was charged with public intoxication.

Warrant served: Jared T. Wilson, 30, Carson Springs Road, was served with an active outstanding warrant for failure to comply with child support on Thursday, July 4. Lt. Michael Whitmer arrested Wilson without incident and transported him to the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Domestic assault: Deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Red Hill Road, concerning a domestic disturbance for the third time on Thursday, July 4. Upon arrival, Lt. Michael Whitmer spoke with Warren Thornhill, 73, who said Cynthia Thornhill, 71, kept turning off his oxygen machine when he would lie down to go to bed. As deputies attempted to place Cynthia under arrest, she refused to cooperate. Cynthia was “forcefully” handcuffed and escorted to the police cruiser, the report stated. She was charged with domestic assault.

Theft of property: A 1996 Nissan Sentra was reported stolen to the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, July 3. Deputy Zach Shelton spoke with Kathy Lynn Jones, 59, who said the vehicle was last seen at her residence on Overlook Way. The estimated loss was $1,000.
