Probation violation: Royce C. Branscum, 36, No address, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Tuesday, May 21. Sgt. Matthew Elliott arrested Branscum at a residence on Appalachian Way without incident.

Gibson arrest: Charles J. Gibson, 28, Raines Road, was served with an active outstanding warrant for domestic violence on Monday, May 20. Patrolman Joshyua Shults arrested Gibson following a traffic stop without incident and transported him to the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Moore arrest: Angela E. Moore, 40, North Cherokee Drive, was arrested by the Newport Police Department for public intoxication on Tuesday, May 21. Patrolman Brandon Cassady reported he was dispatched to Weigels in reference to a woman refusing to exit the restroom unless law enforcement was present. As officers arrived to the scene, Moore complied with officers instructions. According to the report, she admitted to drinking too much. For her safety, she was taken into custody.

Disorderly conduct: Officers were dispatched to Newport Medical Center concerning a female subject causing a disturbance on Tuesday, May 21. Upon arrival, Patrolman Joshyua Shults came in contact with the female in question, identified as Sashia Ledford, 28, 7th Street, who had pulled her pants down and was not letting employees do their job. She was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct.

James arrest: Brandy L. James, 32, No address, was served with active outstanding warrants for violation of probation and failure to appear on Wednesday, May 22. Patrolman Shane Bower arrested James without incident and transported her to the Cocke County Jail Annex.

Duo charged: Officers were dispatched to Walmart concerning active shoplifters on Wednesday, May 20. Upon arrival, Patrolman Jordan Douglas and Sgt. Billy Woody spoke with managers who said they observed Daniel G. Speir, 41, and Jerred M. Turner, 33, conceal items and attempted to leave the store. Both men were detained and items were recovered. According to the report, as officers searched Speir, they found he was in possession of a pair of brass knuckles and a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine. As officers searched Turner, they found he was also in possession of a baggie of methamphetamine and hydromorphone. Both men were arrested and charged with possession of schedule II and shoplifting. Speir was additionally charged with possession of prohibited weapon.

Warden arrest: Officers were dispatched to KenJo Market concerning an intoxicated person on Wednesday, May 22. Upon arrival, Patrolman Shane Bower came in contact with Michael A. Warden, 36, Foxtail Road. A subsequent search of his person revealed a syringe and a baggie containing .20 grams of methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II and violation of probation.
