BRISTOL—The Tusculum University men’s basketball team is ranked 10th in this week’s D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll.
The Pioneers (3-2) received 11 total points in a vote of the region’s media relations director representing the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas.
Queens University of Charlotte, the defending Southeast Region champions, are No. 1 in this week’s poll after receiving 59 points and five first place votes. Lincoln Memorial is second with 55 points and one first place nod. UNC Pembroke is third with 44 points, followed by Wingate (37), King (30), Augusta (22), Mount Olive (18), Belmont Abbey (15) and Catawba (12). Tusculum and Lees-McRae are tied for 10th place with 11 points each.
Tusculum opened the season winning its first three games including a 74-73 win over Young Harris last Wednesday. TU dropped a pair of games in Charlotte over the weekend, losing 81-79 to UNC Pembroke in a battle of unbeaten teams on Saturday. Lees-McRae fended off a late Tusculum rally on Sunday as the Bobcats won 85-80.
The Pioneers will be in action this Saturday night when they take on North Georgia for a 7 p.m. tip-off in Dahlonega, Georgia.
