MARYVILLE—Smoky Mountain Speedway returns to racing action on Friday, August 16 with four divisions of racing on the card along with special prizes to be given away.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals will hold their first race at Smoky Mountain Speedway. The Ray Cook-promoted series is similar to the Spring Nationals, but will take place as the season winds down with a wide variety of tracks on the schedule. Smoky Mountain Speedway is proud to host the first ever event of the Fall Nationals which pays $4,000 to the winner.
The Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series will be back for a $2,000 to win race. Cory Hedgecock held off Brandon Williams to win the earlier Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series event at Smoky Mountain.
Also racing on August 16 will be the limited late models for $1,200 to win and the sportsman late models for $1,000 to win with added money from East Tennessee Fence Company.
Race fans can enter to win a pair of tickets to the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway that takes place the following night on August 17. A table will be set up for fans to register. The drawing will take place just before the start of the Fall Nationals feature race.
There will also be a Kids’ Candy Toss for kids 12 and under.
Pit gates open at 4:00. Grandstand and tier parking gates open at 5:00. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 6:35 with hot laps to follow beginning at 7:00.
Grandstand ticket prices are $20 for adults, kids 6-11 are $5, and children 5 and under are free. Tier parking tickets are $25 for adults, kids 6-11 are $10, and children 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults, kids 11 and under are $15. Minors 18 and under must submit a Minor Release and Waiver of Liability form signed by parent/legal guardian. If form is not signed in the presence of an Smoky Mountain Speedway official, it must be notarized. Forms can be downloaded from the track’s web site
Smoky Mountain Speedway is located 12 miles south of Maryville, Tennessee. From Maryville, take Highway 411 south for 10 miles and turn left onto Brick Mill Road. Follow Brick Mill Road for approximately 2 miles, the racetrack is on the right. The first entrance is for grandstand parking. The second entrance is for tier parking and campground access. The pit entrance is the next right on Crye Road.
