Greeneville residents asked to leave
Tuesday, Dep. Derrick Webb filled out an incident report made by Gonald D. Wilds, 59, who stated his neighbors, reportedly a Greeneville couple, have trespassed on his land several times in the past several months. Wilds stated his neighbor’s property boundaries border his land. According to the report, Wilds stated his neighbors trespassed on his property on the following dates: Oct. 27, Oct. 29, Jan. 19, Jan. 27, Feb. 16, Feb. 25 and March 11. Wilds alleged that on Feb. 9, his neighbors removed survey pins he used to mark his property.


Chevy strikes Ford
Tuesday, Dep. Derrick Webb was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Highway 32. According to the report, Webb gathered information from a witness who stated Stephen L. Keller, 45, 746 Yellow Springs Road, Cosby, drove his 1992 Ford past a 2001 Chevrolet driven by Lucas M. Allison, 22, 756 Commanche Drive, Newport. Both men were reportedly traveling north on Highway 32. The witness told Webb that Keller slowed his Ford to a stop and turned toward a BP station off Highway 32. The witness stated he didn’t see a signal and Allison was traveling faster than the speed limit before turning toward the store. Allison then reportedly struck Keller’s Ford in the rear.


Home vandalized, items stolen
Saturday, Dep. Brian Holt was dispatched to 210 Mountain Vista Way on a call concerning the theft and vandalism of several items in a home belonging to Edward C. Koop, 65, 6308 N. Knox Ave., Chicago, Ill. According to the report, Koop stated that sometime between Dec. 1 and Jan. 7, someone entered his residence and stole and damaged $1,952 worth of fans, lighting equipment, windows, plates, tools and blinds.

Lost purse
Tuesday, Capt. Jerry Shelton filled out an incident report made by Susan Bryant, 66, 337 Church Road, Hot Springs, N.C., concerning a lost purse. According to the report, Bryant told Shelton she ate at Shoney’s restaurant Monday and left her purse at the business. When Bryant returned to retrieve her purse, it was reportedly missing. Employees reported no one turned in the purse. The contents included a wallet, checkbook, Medicare card, medication and $400 cash. The purse is constructed of denim and has two straps.


Toyota Corolla window shattered
Tuesday, Patrolman Billy Woody responded to a vandalism call made by Margaretta Holt, 58, 1755 Jay Bird St., Newport, at the Newport Grammar parking lot. According to the report, Holt told Woody she parked her 1993 Toyota Corolla near the school building. Holt stated she saw her vehicle around 4:30 p.m. and noticed no damage. When Holt left the building around 5:45 p.m., she noticed her car wasn’t parked where she left it. The car reportedly rolled approximately 30 feet down a hill. The driver’s-side window was shattered but nothing was reported missing. Woody informed Holt of video surveillance cameras pointing toward where the vehicle was initially parked. Holt was asked to review the surveillance. The estimated cost of the damaged window is $400.


Eagle splattered
Tuesday, Patrolman Theo Williams filled out an incident report made by Justin Barnette, 19, 750 Princeton Lane, Newport, concerning paint splattered on his 1995 Eagle Talon while he was traveling north on the Cosby Highway. According to the report, Barnette stated he was traveling past a carwash when some unidentified object struck his Eagle and splattered silver paint on both him and the Talon’s driver’s-side doors. The estimated cost of the damage is $150.
