NEWPORT-Over 200 family members, church friends, and
co-workers jammed into Carson-Springs Conference Center's lower banquet hall
Friday afternoon to honor Charlotte Tweed on her retirement.
Tweed ended her career on Monday, June 30, as account
clerk with Tennessee Department of Transportation after 51 and 1/2 years of
service.
Friday's reception was hosted by her children, Phyllis
Harrison and Steve Tweed. During the afternoon, several of Tweed's co-workers
paid tribute to her, including Fred Corum, Regional TDOT Director, Lester
Matthews, Highway Maintenance Supervisor 2; Dovie Bradley, TDOT Clerk 3, and
sister-in-law Jane McNabb Pullum.
