NEWPORT-A man was arrested in Newport Tuesdayafternoon, less than 12 hours after being
placed on the Tennessee Bureau ofInvestigation's Top 10 Most Wanted List.
Chad Allen Love, 25, who was wanted in connection withthe April 20 robbery of a
Gatlinburg fast food restaurant, was apprehended atan apartment complex just after 5 p.m., according
to Newport Police ChiefMaurice Shults.
"The TBI received information that Love was at anapartment in
the Bicentennial Apartments," said Shults. "The TBIcontacted us and asked for assistance. After a
little investigation, it wasconfirmed he was in the apartment. He was arrested without
incident."
Shults said Newport officers Jason Smith and BillyWoody assisted TBI agents in making
the arrest.
Love was wanted by the Gatlinburg Police Departmentfor Aggravated Robbery. Shortly after
midnight on April 20, Love allegedlyentered the McDonald's at 1353 East Parkway in Gatlinburg and
robbed therestaurant with the use of a pellet gun.
The crime was captured on the
building's securitycameras. Love fled the scene on foot and was later found sleeping in a
nearbyLaundromat, wearing the same clothing and shoes as he did in the robbery.
Investigators, however, had not been able to reviewthe video and didn't have enough
evidence to file a charge at the time.
A $1,000 reward was offered for information leading toLove's
arrest, however, it has yet to be revealed whether anyone will be ableto collect the
reward.
