NEWPORT-With a holiday weekend looming, various offices,government entities, and businesses will be closed.

The City Park pool, however, will be open 11-5 throughoutthe weekend.

The Newport/Cocke County Community Center will closeThursday, July 3, at 9 p.m. and reopen Saturday, July 5, at 8 a.m.

Stokely Memorial Library will be closed Friday, July 4,but will be reopen Saturday, July 5, 10-5. Also on Saturday, Library Friendswill hold their monthly used book sale at the library 10-2.

Local post offices will be closed Friday, July 4, andreopen Saturday.

The office of Newport's mayor and other city offices willclose Friday, July 4, and reopen Monday, July 7.

The Cocke County Mayor's office will close at noonThursday, July 3 and reopen Monday, July 7, at 8 a.m.

Newport Utilities will be closed Friday. On Saturday theutility's drive-through will be open 8-12.

Jefferson-Cocke County Utilities will be closed Fridayand Saturday and reopen Monday.

US Bank will be closed Friday and reopen Saturday.

National Bank of Tennessee will be closed Friday andSaturday and reopen Monday.

Green Bank will be closed Friday and reopen Saturday.

Newport Federal Bank will be closed Friday, July 4, andreopen Saturday, July 5.

The offices of the Newport/Cocke County Chamber ofCommerce, Newport/Cocke County Partnership/EDC, Keep Cocke County Beautiful,and Cocke County Tourism will be closed Friday, but staff members will be atthe Cocke County A & I Fairgrounds hosting the Hometown Celebration thatafternoon and evening.

Offices in the Cocke County Courthouse will be closedFriday and Saturday and reopen Monday.

The Newport Plain Talk office will close at noon onFriday, July 4, and reopen Monday, July 7 at 8 a.m.
