Hifolks, "Boy - oh - Boy"! Time sure seems to be flying by. Here it is, almost,half the month gone already. Seems the older I become, the faster the days slipon by.

           September 7th Our CenterviewVolunteer Fire Department will hold their regular monthly meeting at 2:30 pm,at the Centerview Volunteer Fire Hall. All members are encouraged to turn outfor the meeting.

          September 7th is known as"Grandparents Day", and by our Hispanic neighbors it is known as Dia delosAbuelos. Be it American or Spanish take your grandparents out today incelebration of their day.

          September 10th folks who enjoy goodjazz music know today as Latin Jazz Day.

          At this time our Birthday folks are FLETCHER BRYANT, SUE CAUDILL, AMANDADAWSON, LAURA FOWLER, CHRIS OVERHOLT, LORETTA VICK and SHEILA KEASLIING (in NewMarket). May you each enjoy your special day and have many more Happy Birthdaysin the future years.

           At this time our Anniversary couple is BEVERLY and MICKEY OVERHOLT. May youboth enjoy your Anniversary date and have many more wonderful years together.

         The Bybee Babes wish to thank everyone for their support in the benefit for Ms.Denise Davenport. That was held at the Bruners Grove Grocery Store, in BrunersGrove, on Labor day, Monday, September 1st. The Hand made quilt known as "Tea ForThose Who Have None" was raffled off by ticket sales with 100% of the proceedsfor Ms. Denise Davenport to continue her missionary work in South Africa. Thewinner of the "Tea For Those Who Have None" quilt was Ms. Diane Spoone, fromMorristown, Tn., who volunteers at Noah's Arc Animal Rescue.

         It's Home Coming time, on Sunday, September 21st, at the BasingerChapel Church, on Basinger Hollow Road, in Bybee. Pastor Franklin Wine inviteseveryone to attend. The J.R. Bewley Singers and Band will be singing. Servicesstart at 10 am. Come one -Come all. Join in our Home Coming Celebration. 

         September 13th Music- music, itsmusic time again tonight, at the Bruners Grove Grocery Store, on Knob CreekRoad, in Bruners Grove, starting on/about 7 pm. "Hi - Diddle - Dee"! It's JamieGann and the Long Shots playing music all ears enjoy listening to. Straddle achair and enjoy the music and the company of friends, neighbors and maybe arelative or two. Sit and chat or hum and sing, tappy the toes and wiggle thehips. Sit inside or sit outside, the choice is yours. If sitting outside youmight like to join the "Swattin-Skeeter" gang. Just roll up a recycled pastissue of our Newport Plain Talk newspaper and swing and swat, at them thereskeeters as they fly on by this away and that away. There is always gooddeli-type foods, hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks, chips, candy and more.There is never - ever a cover charge to sit and listen to enjoy the music, atthe Bruners Grove Grocery Store.

         September 20th  theBruners Grove United Methodist Church's "Lords Acre Sale" is coming"Closer and Closer"! Now just 2 weeks away on September 20th.

Everythingand I do mean everything is needed to again make the "Lords Acre Sale" asuccess. It is time to empty out the closet, clean out the basement, garage,tool sheds and donate it all to the Lords Acre Sale. New or used it all sellsat some price. Folks with a garden may like to donate a bushel or so ofveggies, taters, beans, or maybe baskets of pears, apples or canned homemadejams and jellies. Bake them fancy pies, cobblers to be auctioned. Have homedécor, fancy sunbonnets, aprons, good used appliances, furniture, ridingmowers, garden tools, toys, chain saws, bikes, etc? Always in demand arequilts, of all sizes and designs from hand sewn to machine made. Need a taxwrite off? Donate that never to be used piece of property, or a good used car,pick up, airplane, farm tractor, ATV, motorcycle or scooter. Maybe a beef cow,or other farm animal. Plan to spend Saturday, September 20th here with all of us.Lunch and take outs will be available, sit and eat starting at 11:30 am.Auction starts at 1 pm. Rain or shine it's all inside, plenty of seating forall. Have items to be delivered beforehand or need to be picked up call Tommieat 613-0058.
