Indictments handed down by grand jury

NEWPORT-Here is a list of others named by the grand jury on indictments and presentments. Court records do not identify defendants by age, address, or occupation and there may be other people with the same, or similar, names.
Arraignments for those accused by the grand jury this week are scheduled for Monday, May 11, at 9 a.m. before Judge Hooper.
¥ Nicholas D. Boswell, charged in one indictment with theft of merchandise from the Newport Package Store at 203 Cosby Highway on December 12. In a second indictment, Boswell is accused of leaving the scene of an accident on November 13. Boswell is charged in a third indictment with theft of merchandise from Interstate Liquor Store at 833 Cosby Highway on December 17. He is named on a fourth indictment accusing him of failure to appear in general sessions court on November 3 to answer a violation of probation charge.
¥ Jeremy Shane Grooms, who is charged with theft of property valued at less than $500 from the BP station at 1004 Cosby Highway and public intoxication on March 15.
¥ William Chandler Daniels, who is charged with theft of property valued at more than $10,000 on December 16. The property alleged to have been stolen is identified in the indictment as a baler owned by Dewayne Mason, of 388 Highway 340, Parrottsville.
¥ James Edward Purkey, who is charged with theft of property valued at more than $1,000 on March 12. Purkey is accused of taking an antique horse saddle, a Craftsman riding lawnmower, a Murray push mower, tools, and other property belonging to Gerald Jones, of 210 Stowa Way.
¥ James Moody Shelton, who is charged with theft of property valued at more than $500 on February 13. The stolen property is identified in the indictment as a vehicle belonging to Rosemary Shelton, of 1559 East Highway 25/70.
¥ Travis Owenby, who is charged with theft of property valued at more than $1,000, identified in the indictment as a four-wheeler belonging to Billy H. Sparks, of 1679 Highway 321, Parrottsville, on February 20.
¥ Crystal Crum, who is charged with theft of property valued at more than $10,000 on March 2. Crum is accused of taking jewelry belonging to Stacie Fine, of 312 Mims Avenue.
¥ Shawn Gregory, who is charged with vandalism of property valued at less than $500, theft of property valued at more than $1,000, and aggravated burglary on February 23. Gregory is accused of entering the home of Jonathan Grooms, of 2301 South Cosby Highway, Cosby, and taking "assorted property."
¥ Marcie N. Smith, who is charged with aggravated burglary, theft of property valued at less than $500, and forgery valued at less than $500 on February 12. The defendant is accused of breaking into the home of Brenda Smith, of 418 Sixth Street, taking jewelry and checks, and forging one of those checks for $60.
¥ Donald Dexton Wilds, who is charged with five counts of burglary of motor vehicles belonging to Alex Williams, of 1651 Blue Mill Road, Del Rio; Benjamin Middleton, of 1651 Blue Mill Road, Del Rio; J.R. Whitson, of 2529 Highway 25/70; Tony Daniels, of 250 Cany Way, Del Rio; and David Burton, of 140 Stokely Cemetery Road, Del Rio, on December 26.
¥ Shane C. Barton, who is charged with theft of property valued at more than $1,000, identified as a four-wheeler owned by Rhonda Witcher, of 3408 Rocky Ridge, Cosby, on March 4.
¥ Gabriel Hyatt, who is charged with theft of property valued at less than $500, identified as a video camera owned by Country Convenience Market at 200 Highway 160 on October 11.
¥ Clifton Raines, who is charged with vandalism of property valued at less than $500 and reckless endangerment by use of a deadly weapon on April 13. The property alleged to have been damaged is a sliding glass door belonging to Elizabeth Pickett, of 1306 Wilson Road.
¥ Jeffery Ray Grooms and Nathaniel Manning, who are charged with theft of property valued at more than $1,000 and aggravated burglary on February 24 and 25. The stolen property is identified as tools owned by Rhonda Witcher, of 1011 English Fields Drive.
¥ Gabriel Hyatt, who is charged by presentment with theft of property valued at more than $1,000 and burglary of a motor vehicle. on October 11. Hyatt is accused of taking a pocketbook and other property from a vehicle belonging to Kevin and Jennifer Holt, of 130 Highway 160.
¥ Terry L. Fine, who is charged with reckless endangerment involving use of a deadly weapon, driving on  a revoked license, evading arrest, theft of property valued at more than $1,000, possession of burglary tools, and reckless driving on March 1. The allegedly stolen property is identified in the indictment as a motor vehicle belonging to Tim Laycock, of 9021 Pleasant Hill Road, Knoxville.
¥ Ronald Taylor, who is charged with aggravated assault, violation of an order of protection, and vandalism of property valued at less than $500 on July 24. Taylor is accused of assaulting Imogene Taylor, of  640 Village Way, and with damaging doors and a telephone at the residence.
¥ Ashley Nicole Huff, who is charged with vandalism of property valued at less than $500, identified as a motor vehicle window belonging to Jessie Parton, of 590 Highway 25-E, on February 12.
¥ Billy C. Davis Jr. and Katileen Mathis, who are charged in separate indictments with child abuse and neglect of a child less than six years old on February 24.
¥ Jonathan Grooms, who is charged with aggravated assault of Ike Sutton, of 3807 Cosby Highway, Cosby, with a club on February 21.
¥ Ashley Nicole Huff, who is charged with prescription fraud for allegedly attempting to obtain hydrocodone and Xanax without a prescription on February 16.
¥ Mitchell Ray Presnell, who is charged with theft of merchandise, identified in the indictment as cigarettes, from Parrott's Place at 101 North Highway 340, Parrottsville, on September 29.
¥ Victoria Nicolle Campbell, who is charged with two counts of forgery of checks belonging to Annita Frazier, of 171 Brookview Drive, on January 6. Campbell is named in a second indictment accusing her of failure to appear in general sessions court on January 28 to answer a charge of theft of property valued at less than $500.
¥ Daniel Lee Valentine, who is charged with domestic assault of Kristal Valentine, of 2316 Highway 321, and with felony possession of a weapon on December 22.
¥ Gerald Burke, who is charged with second-offense or greater driving on a revoked license on February 23.
¥ Sherry L. Breitung, who is charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law on April 4.
¥ Franklin Douglas Shropshire, who is charged with violation of the state vehicle headlight law and evading arrest on February 15.
¥ Phillip Greene, who is charged with reckless endangerment using a weapon on March 16.
¥ Suzanna Beth Gorrell (Cole), who is charged with reckless endangerment on March 16.
¥ Gerald Burke, who is charged with failure to obey traffic control devices, violation of the vehicle registration law, violation of the financial responsibility law, and second-offense or greater driving on a revoked license on March 24.
¥ Danny James, who is charged with second-offense or greater driving on a suspended license on July 24.
¥ Gary Ray Stuart, who is charged with fourth-offense driving on a revoked license, violation of the state open alcoholic beverage container law, and violation of the financial responsibility law on September 27.
¥ Paladin E. Phillips, who is charged with second-offense DUI, simple possession of marijuana, violation of the state vehicle registration law, driving on a revoked or suspended license, and violation of the financial responsibility law on March 10.
¥ Jason Scott Willis, who is charged with violation of the state financial responsibility law on January 5.
¥ Jason Gorrell, who is charged with speeding, driving on a revoked license, violation of the state seat belt law, and violation of the financial responsibility law on August 25.
¥ Ronald Taylor, who is charged with failure to appear in general sessions court on September 8 to answer a charge of aggravated assault.
¥ Vicki Lynn Worthington, who is charged with making a false police report on April 11. Grand jurors returned a no true bill clearing her of a charge of public intoxication on the same date.
¥ Hardy Franklin Allen, who is charged with second-offense DUI, speeding, and violation of the state implied consent law on February 7.
¥ Gerald Burke, who is charged with second-offense or greater driving on a revoked license on March 17.
¥ Timothy Wayne Denton, who is charged with DUI, speeding, and violation of the implied consent law on November 15.
¥ Jason Scott Willis, who is charged with DUI, vehicular assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia on February 11. The victim of the alleged assault is identified as a five-year-old Del Rio boy.
¥ Kenney Mickey Williams, who is charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law on March 21.
¥ Charles Frank Mullins, who is charged with violation of the financial responsibility law on January 19.
¥ Jerry Leon Turner, who is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license on August 23.
¥ Rheannon Black, who is charged with reckless driving, driving on a revoked license, and failure to maintain a proper lane of travel on October 24.
¥ Dustin Lee White, who is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license, violation of the state vehicle headlight law, and failure to maintain a proper lane of travel on November 3.
¥ Franklin Ezra Shropshire, who is charged with simple possession of marijuana on October 8.
¥ Kristine Leigh Dickson, who is charged with public intoxication and filing false police reports on March 14.
¥ Jeffery Ray Grooms, who is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on February 25.
¥ Kermit Phillips, who is charged with DUI and violation of the state headlight law on September 23.
¥ Herbert Pigg, who is charged with DUI, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the open container law, and having no driver's license on January 3.
¥ Keith Edward Webb, who is charged with violation of the Tennessee Habitual Motor Vehicle Offender (HMVO) law, fifth-offense DUI, reckless endangerment involving use of a deadly weapon, second-offense or greater driving on a revoked license, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, violation of the open container law, failure to yield the right-of-way, failure to use a turn signal, and making an improper turn on April 1.
¥ James Grady Ball, who is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on March 2.
¥ Anderson Jenkins, who is charged with second-offense or greater driving on a revoked license and violation of the vehicle headlight law on March 2.
¥ Janice Faye Allen, who is charged with driving on a revoked license on September 6.
¥ Ronald Taylor, who is charged with violation of an order of protection on February 11.
¥ Russell C. Holt, who is charged by presentment with DUI on December 31.
¥ Michael Lee Buckner, who is charged by presentment with DUI and speeding on March 22.
¥ William Joseph Raines, who is charged by presentment with fourth-offense DUI, violation of the state implied consent law, violation of the open container law, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance (hydrocodone) without a prescription, failure to stop at a stop sign, and speeding on November 7.
¥ Justin Blake O'Dell, who is charged by presentment with DUI and driving on a suspended license on December 27.
¥ Lisa R. Grove, who is charged by presentment with DUI on September 25.
The grand jury returned a no true bill on Monday clearing Michael Harris, who had been accused of driving on a revoked license on September 8.
