NEWPORT-It was Round 10 for Cocke County's elementary basketball squads this past Monday, December 7, as Del Rio visited Bridgeport, Smoky Mountain hosted Cosby, Northwest traveled to Centerview and Parrottsville was at home to Grassy Fork.

The Lady Falcons scored early and often, and flew away from the Lady Patriots. The Lady Falcons led 19-0 at the end of the first quarter, 42-1 at the half, 57-3 at the end of three quarters, and then coasted home with the 58-point victory. Kaitlyn Fine and Leah Lewandowski shared game-high honors with each scoring 14 points while Alyssa Mitchell had six points to pace the Lady Patriots.

Centerview (67): Leah Lewandowski 14, Kaitlyn Fine 14, Hannah Burke 12, Hannah Miller 12, Hayley Burke 6, Brooke Holt 5, Kaylee Reed 2, Haley Miller 2.

Northwest (9): Alyssa Mitchell 6, Markeshia Allen 2, Tiffany Tyler 1.

This one was nip-and-tuck with the Falcons managing to hold of the Patriots at the end. The Falcons led 10-7 at the end of the first quarter, but the Patriots pulled even, 17-17, at the break. The Falcons held a one-point lead, 24-23, heading into the final six minutes, and then held on for the two-point victory. Colin White had a game-high 16 points to lead the Falcons while Francisco Torres had 11 points to pace the Patriots.

Centerview (37): Colin White 16, Ryder Keedwell 9, Kelley Hayes 6, Adam Lloyd 2, Nick Myers 2, Dylan Brockwell 2.

Northwest (35): Francisco Torres 11, Kinsler Rea 10, Barren Pruitt 7, Kyle Lane 5, Michael Hambree 2.

The Lady Trojans tried to make a comeback late, but the Lady Rockets had things firmly in control. The Lady Rockets blasted off to a 12-0 first quarter lead, and made it 27-2 at the half. The Lady Rockets let 39-16 at the end of three, and despite a Lady Trojan 22-point fourth quarter outburst, the Lady Rockets cruised home with the 11-point victory. Alexis Williams had 15 points to lead the Lady Rockets while Autumn Stokely had a game-high 26 points to lead the Lady Trojans.

Bridgeport (49): Alexis Williams 15, Megan Finchum 11, Allison Frazier 10, Courtney Cox 6, Mary Jones 5, Cheyenne Kelley 2.

Del Rio (38): Autun Stokely 26, Angel Mayes 6, Emily Stinson 2, Jayce Langston 2, Kristin Conard 2.

The Rockets were a bit too much for the Trojans on this night. The Rockets lifted off to a 17-2 first quarter lead. The Trojans out-scored the Rockets 14-9 in the second frame, but the Rockets still had a 26-14 lead at the break. Both teams played even through the third quarter, but the Rockets still led 40-28, and they coasted home with the 19-point victory. Patrick Hurst had a game-high 24 points to lead the Rockets while Shawn Sells had 12 points to lead the Trojans.

Bridgeport (54): Patrick Hurst 24, Austin Black 8, Morgan Hall 7, Clint Ramsey 4, Austin Ford 4, Blake Gentry 4, Erin Hartsell 3.

Del Rio (35): Shawn Sells 12, Logan Black 8, Raiden Worley 6, Blake Daniels 5, Hunter Phillips 4.

Parrottsville 9

The Lady Parrotts had an off night, but the opposite was true for the Lady Ravens. The Lady Ravens led 9-2 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back, leading 23-7 at the break, 39-7 at the end of three, and then coasted home with the 36-point victory. Dessie Shaffer had a game-high 15 points to lead the Lady Ravens while Elizabeth Walker had three points to pace the Lady Parrotts.

Grassy Fork (45): Dessie Shaffer 15, Katie Mae Lanzon 10, Julie McGaha 9, Wendy McGaha 6, Payton Johnson 3, Kristan Coggins 2.

Parrottsville (9): Elizabeth Walker 3, Anna Cagle 2, Ashley Wood 2, Twylah Fobber 2.

Grassy Fork 32

The Ravens had no answer for the Parrotts on this night. The Parrotts flew out to a 19-5 first quarter lead, and led 40-13 at the half. The Parrotts were up 55-19 at the end of three, and floated home with the 33-point victory. Jerick Varner led 12 Parrott scorers with a game-high 14 points while Thomas Edwards had eight points to lead the Ravens.

Parrottsville (65): Jarick Varner 14, D.J. Holt 9, Ty Chatman 8, Tate Messer 7, Ike Rouleau 5, Seth Lovell 4, Samuel Hooper 4, Stephen Brown 4, Perry Tate 3, Christopher 3, Tyler Green 2, Thomas Shehee 2.

The Lady Bears took control of the Lady Eagles early, and stayed the course. The Lady Bears led 13-2 at the end of the first quarter and 16-6 at the break. The Lady Bears led 32-19 at the end of three, and ambled home with the eight-point victory. Cyara Williams had a game-high 22 points to lead the Lady Bears while Brooke Schreder had 10 points to lead the Lady Eagles.

Smoky Mountain (44): Cyara Williams 22, Miranda Williams 11, Alpha Parton 5, Kaitlyn McReynolds 4, Harley Gregg 1, Courtney Napieralski 1.

Cosby (36): Brooke Schreder 10, Ivey Fine 8, Kailye Ball 5, Morgan Ticer 4, Jaylon Dunn 4, Sydni Johnson 2, Tasha Ball 2, Kailye Webb 1.

Elementary squads return to the hardwood tonight at four locations. Edgemont will travel to Northwest while Grassy Fork will host Centerview. Parrottsville will play at Cosby. And, Bridgeport will welcome Smoky Mountain. Girl's varsity tips at 6 p.m. with boy's varsity about 20 minutes after the finish of the girl's varsity games.
