A two-car collision at about 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, on Highway 321 just north of
Parrottsville's city limits, at the intersection with Upper Road, injured three people, two of
them seriously. Amanda Dalton, 30, of 441 Upper Road, in Parrottsville, was apparently
attempting to make a left turn from Upper Road to go south on Highway 321, in a 2002

PARROTTSVILLE-A two-car collision at 6:16 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, on Highway 321, northeast of Parrottsville, at the intersection with Upper Road, injured three people, two of them seriously.

Amanda Dalton, 30, of 441 Upper Road, in Parrottsville, was apparently attempting to make a left turn from Upper Road to go south on Highway 321, in a 2002 Chevy Malibu (pictured here), when her vehicle was hit in the driver's door by a 2003 Nissan driven by Brandlyn Rector, 32, of 118 Eagle Crest, in Parrottsville.

Dalton was taken by Allied EMS ambulance to Baptist Hospital of Cocke County, and then flown by wings to Johnson City Medical Center, where she was in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) as of Wednesday afternoon.

Her stepdaughter, Desiree, 8, of the same address, was a passenger in Dalton's vehicle. She was transported by Allied EMS ambulance to Baptist Hospital of Cocke County, and then transferred to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, according to a report by Cocke County Deputy Sheriff Derrick Webb.

A friend of the family told The Newport Plain Talk on Wednesday afternoon, around 2 p.m., that Desiree Dalton was "doing good, in ICU, and won't need surgery."
