NEWPORT-The Cocke County Legislative Body will have its
regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the Cocke County Courthouse.
Among items to be considered by the CLB will be the
appointment of Cocke County Mayor Iliff McMahan Jr., County Finance Director
Anne Williams and Gay Webb to the Technical Work Group of the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency concerning the NPDES Wastewater Permit for the
Canton paper mill as stated in the House Joint Resolution No. 1103 (Rep. Eddie
Yokley) and Senate Resolution No. 276 (Sen. Steve Southerland).
Members will also consider a resolution reappointing
James Moore to the Civil Service Board with a term to expire in August of 2012.
Other items on Monday's agenda include regular monthly
reports, request from the Cocke County Highway Department and the approval of
notaries and sureties.
