The City of Murfreesboro is considering the submittal of an application to the Tennessee

Department of Transportation for a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP)

grant for 2022. The purpose of the grant application is to solicit federal transportation

funds for the purpose of undertaking a pedestrian improvement project entailing the

installation of a pedestrian bridge over Broad Street (SR 1) connecting Vine Street to

Front Street.

An informal public meeting will be held on November 16, 2021 from 4:30PM –

6:30PM at the rotunda of City Hall located at 111 West Vine Street. The purpose

of the meeting is to discuss the purpose and need as well as the general intended

design and construction parameters of the project and the community’s role in the

application process. The City of Murfreesboro is seeking comments from the public

and all residents are encouraged to attend.
