Juvenile charged: Officers were dispatched to the area of Myers Circle concerning an assault on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Upon arrival, Patrolman Shane Bower spoke with the juvenile victim and the victim’s mother, who said a 13-year-old female allegedly threw urine on her. Witnesses confirmed the incident that reportedly took place on September 8. According to the report, as officers attempted to speak with the juvenile suspect, the juvenile began cursing and attempted to walk away from officers. The juvenile suspect was charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
Probation violation: Joseph B. Stuart, 32, Myers Circle, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Thursday, Sept. 12. Patrolman Paul Weber arrested Stuart following a traffic stop without incident.
Hicks arrest: Sherry Hicks, 48, Evans Valley Road, was charged with possession of drugs among other charges following a traffic stop in Newport Thursday morning. Patrolman Paul Weber initiated a traffic stop after he observed Hicks operating a vehicle that had a broken headlight. Upon making contact with Hicks, Ptl. Weber discovered she had an invalid Driver’s License. She was placed under arrest without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a pill bottle that contained various narcotics along with a straw. Hicks was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule IV (two counts), driving on revoked license and light law violation.
Failure to appear: James Ray Messer, 44, Cooper Street, was served with an active outstanding warrant for failure to appear on Thursday, Sept. 12. Patrolman Jordan Douglas arrested Messer without incident following a traffic stop.
Probation violation: Rheannon R. Black, 42, McSween Springs Road, was served with active outstanding warrants for violation of probation (two counts) on Thursday, Sept. 12. Patrolman Jordan Douglas arrested Black following a traffic stop.
Probation violation: Crystal G. Van Daley, 40, was served with an active outstanding warrant for violation of probation on Thursday, Sept. 12. Sgt. David Clevenger arrested Van Daley without incident and transported her to the Cocke County Jail Annex.
